Window Views and doors too!

It's Window Views and doors too again! Glad to see ya and hope you have a very Happy New Year!

The new badge above is yours if you want to use it. Just right-click on it and save it to your Desktop or MY Pictures.

I love this country house that I saw on City Island (Bronx, NY) a few weeks ago. The triangular pediments on top of the upstairs windows, the wrap-around porch, the French doors are all the kind of details I love!

The shot in the late afternoon sun gives the house interest, no?

new badge for Window Views and doors too

The photo above is our new badge for Window Views and doors too.

I'll use it for the first time this coming Wednesday/Thursday. You can use it too if you like, by right clicking on it, clicking Save Image to your Desktop or My Pictures.

We have a double posting day because there are quite a few people who live far from the U.S. and appreciate not having to post in the middle of the night.

Window Views and doors too!

Welcome to our Window Views and doors too post just before Christmas...

This is my office window right after the snowstorm in New York City the other day. I took the shot through the screen. See the icicles?

Here are the windows of a highly decorated house in Bayside, Queens.

I want to thank all of our participants for playing the Window Views meme all year. I do appreciate it very much.

Window Views...and doors too

Hi Everybody we have a new badge for the season for our meme "Window Views and doors too." If you'd like to use it just right click on it and save it to your computer.

I took a lot of pictures of Grace Episcopal Church in City Island, Bronx, N.Y. If you go to the web site you'll see they photo-shopped all the electrical wires out of the photo. Big job!

As you can see it's a lovely church. But it was locked that day - a Sunday!

Join us and sign Mr. Linky if you are participating and also leave a comment. I'll try to get around to visit you this week.

Window Views...and doors too! #31

Mausoleum doors at Old Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NY

A mausoleum is an external free-standing building constructed as a monument enclosing the interment space or burial chamber of a deceased person or persons. A monument without the interment is a cenotaph. A mausoleum may be considered a type of tomb or the tomb may be considered to be within the mausoleum. A Christian mausoleum sometimes includes a chapel.

The word derives from the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus (near modern-day Bodrum in Turkey), the grave of King Mausolus, the Persian satrap of Caria, whose large tomb was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Window Views... and doors too! #30

Hey guys! It's me again! It's time to post to Window Views... and doors too!

Here's a house in Forest Hills, N.Y. You're looking at the second floor windows and balcony door. I assume the master bedroom is behind the balcony. I don't think the family that lives here would use the balcony cuz it faces a heavily trafficked street. It probably is purely decorative.

I love the little round attic
window (close-up, bottom photo).

David Caruso (CSI:Miami), Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond), and Paul Simon, the song writer, grew up in Forest Hills.

It's "Window Views... and doors too!" time again! Welcome and remember you can post doors and windows, just doors or just windows.

This is a window fit for a king, or a queen...

This is a extensively decorated doorway in Brooklyn. It's decorated, of course, for Autumn.

I'll try to get around to everyone's post for this week. Don't forget to sign Mr. Linky and leave a comment. Go visiting too!

Window Views... and doors too! #27

So this is my first post for our newly-named meme, Window Views... and doors too! It's the same as "Window Views" but now you can post photos of doors if you like.

Take a look at the door I shot the other day:

What an unusual door on a very usual house in Forest Hills, Queens, N.Y. Don't you think?

I'm looking forward to your windows and/or doors this week.
