Window Views #25

My apologies to all our Window Viewers from around the globe who've have been waiting today to participant in Window Views and to sign Mr. Linky. I've been distracted of late. I'm so sorry!

This is a stained glass window from St. George's Episcopal/Anglican Church, Flushing, Queens, NY. This is particularly interesting because the glass isn't covered from the outside (as most stained glass usually is) so the artistic design can be seen and appreciated.

Don't forget to sign Mr. Linky and leave a comment. And of course let's visit each other!

It's nice to be able to enjoy the stained glass windows from the outside.

Gorgeous window. I love the arched brick work.

No Mr Linky, so here's my link:

Gorgeous, Mary. One of your best window views, in my opinion. :-)

Here is my link, too. Sorry but I don't know the html code to make it work!

Beautiful window. The red brick outline really sets off the blue glass. And at first I thought the trefoil iron insets were carved wood. I've never seen such insets on stained glass before.

I thought I was the only one who couldn't see Mr. Linky. :-)

To Pagan Sphinx: I don't know how everyone else does it, but, if you're interested, here's the html code I use in comments for a link:

1a href="YOUR URL"2THE TEXT YOU WANT PEOPLE TO CLICK TO GET THERE1/a2

Replace the two 1's with this bracket: <
And replace the two 2's with this bracket: >
Replace YOUR URL with your...well...url
And replace THE TEXT YOU WANT PEOPLE TO CLICK TO GET THERE with the name of your blog or whatever
to make it work.

If you preview the comment before publishing it, you can see if it worked right.

Hope that makes sense. I had to fake it out a little so it would display the code and not translate it into a link.

I can't find the place to sign Mr Linky as usual. Here is my Window views Italy.
I like your window view in this post, the best one so far, in my opinion. Look forward to see your next Window views.

Great window. So many church architects have a real flare for designing gorgeous windows!

I feel bad even mentioning Mr. Linky's absence so I'll just file my link here instead.

And the window you picked was worth the wait Mary. Lovely choice!

Creating a link in a comment is a simple enough exercise. You'd construct it like this:

<a href="http://thepaganeye.blogspot.com/2009/10/window-views.html">your link text here</a>

where italicized stuff is to be replaced with your own link and title.

(And in case you're wondering, if you're not Pagan Sphinx, you would want to replace Pagan's URL with your own. Otherwise, you're creating a link to her post instead of yours.)

What beautiful stained glass windows. Hope everything is OK in your end of the world. If you want to wander down my road I’m home.

Thanks, Mojo. That's much clearer, and I learned something new and useful (this is not the first time I've had need of this).

Half the battle is knowing there's a way to do it.

My first time here. I've seen some beautiful photographs. My link is My

I hope it works.

Josie, I used the & lt; and & gt; so the brackets would render in the comments without actually creating the link. If you viewed the source of my comment, that's what you'd see, but if you actually want to create the link you'd use the "<" and ">" rather than the "HTML entities" for them.

So you link would render like this:
Appalachian Dream

Yes, thank you. The < and > worked for me. I needed to know how to get html code to not render so it could be displayed for instructional purposes. A very handy and little-know tip! (Most people I know simply invert the brackets, but that doesn't always work, as I found here.)

Oh, shoot. It rendered my lt and gt. :-/ Oh, well. You know what I mean. :-)

This is such a lovely window! There are several simple colorful windows in our old home--but these are exquisite!

I have been looking to see which of your blogs has the PFF! Haven't found it yet, but have mightily enjoyed purusing your blogs--so many interests!

(grin)
