Window Views #7

Welcome, my friends, to the 7th post for WINDOW VIEWS. We have been posting for 7 weeks our photos of all kinds of windows: interesting, beautiful windows.

This past week I went to the Cloisters with blogger friends Jan and Bob Prytz. Jan hosts Murrieta 365.

In the first photo a set of windows look out on one of the cloister gardens and the covered walkway with an open colonnade on one side.

The second photo is like my header picture. The young woman looks out a window not unlike my second photo. Notice the vaulted ceilings. The picture is darker than I wanted it to be but we weren't allowed to use a flash inside. The window by the way looks out on the Hudson River.

I'm posting early for Thursday so that our blogger friends around the world will find it easier to post.

Don't forget to sign Mr. Linky, leave a comment and visit other participants.

Pretty imposing view through -- and of -- these windows! Mine isn't nearly so grand, but it's still a sanctuary of sorts.

A lovely view, Miss Mary! The view of the Hudson must be gorgeous!

Hi Mary, I've been looking at your window views, they are eye catching to say the least.
I think my favorite is McMansions, wonderful windows!

Sigh...first showing jitters, gave the wrong link to Mr. Linky. Go with #4, not #2. :)

Fabulous, Mary. I love both of those.

They're both beautiful, but I especially love the way the light comes beaming through in that second one.

Oh, I love them both!
The first one is so dreamy with that fairy tale garden and the second reminds me of monks in a medieval cloister.
Beautiful!

Love your window shots. When I first saw the narrow one, it reminded me of a castle in Scotland. I have never been to the Cloisters even though I've been to NYC several times.

both window views are amazing, the second is my favorite, it inspires the imagination. Hope you can stop by to see my sepia scene and window views Thanks!

I love cloister gardens. I'd love to be rich enough to have a house with an enclosed garden like that - surrounded by the house.
Pete and Little Isis are looking out my bathroom window at Purrchance To Dream and I have a picture of some of the other windows in my apartment up at It's A Blog Eat Blog World
Hope you see something fantastic from your window today!
Cheers,
Mo

If I ever get back to NYC again, The Cloisters will be at the top of my list for places to visit.

Mary, thanks for the invitation. As I'm new to this meme, I'll have to have a go at it week next. Oh what I've viewed, through many a window....

Your window views are most impressive (as always). I've finally gotten my act together (albeit a bit later than usual) and combined the rather ordinary window next door with my Ruby Tuesday today at Small Reflections.
Hugs and blessings,

I visited the Cloisters in 2002. It was my first time in NYC and it was so strange to feel like I was in an old English monastery but not!

The second window remindes me some tales are medial age!

Darkness in it just make it more interesting, like if a secret were there!!

It still seems to me that it’s unprecedented enough that it wouldn’t *necessarily* be the case for the party in general.
