Welcome, my friends, to the 7th post for WINDOW VIEWS. We have been posting for 7 weeks our photos of all kinds of windows: interesting, beautiful windows.
This past week I went to the Cloisters with blogger friends Jan and Bob Prytz. Jan hosts Murrieta 365.
In the first photo a set of windows look out on one of the cloister gardens and the covered walkway with an open colonnade on one side.
The second photo is like my header picture. The young woman looks out a window not unlike my second photo. Notice the vaulted ceilings. The picture is darker than I wanted it to be but we weren't allowed to use a flash inside. The window by the way looks out on the Hudson River.

Pretty imposing view through -- and of -- these windows! Mine isn't nearly so grand, but it's still a sanctuary of sorts.

The first one is so dreamy with that fairy tale garden and the second reminds me of monks in a medieval cloister.

Love your window shots. When I first saw the narrow one, it reminded me of a castle in Scotland. I have never been to the Cloisters even though I've been to NYC several times.

I love cloister gardens. I'd love to be rich enough to have a house with an enclosed garden like that - surrounded by the house.

Your window views are most impressive (as always). I've finally gotten my act together (albeit a bit later than usual) and combined the rather ordinary window next door with my Ruby Tuesday today at Small Reflections.

I visited the Cloisters in 2002. It was my first time in NYC and it was so strange to feel like I was in an old English monastery but not!
