Thursday is the first day of our new meme WINDOW VIEWS.
I am posting at 4:00 PM EST today (Wednesday) so that our blogger friends from the other side of the globe can post and participate easily.
You can post anytime after 4:00 PM on Wednesday into Thursday.
The only rules are:
Post your own photographs
Sign Mr. Linky

Visit other participants
Visiting other participants is the nicest thing you can do. And then if you visit them, they'll visit you!
I'll visit as many people as I can. Especially this first day!
Have fun everybody!
I've posted what I think is a very simple but attractive window for my first post.
This is called a classic Half Round Window. It's also called a
Fanlight or Fan Window -- a half round window that looks like a lady's fan opened up. Usually it is near the roof of a building, or over the front door or a window.
A keystone has been added above the round arch. A keystone is the central wedge-shaped stone of an arch that locks its parts together. In this case though it was added as decoration.
NOTE
Had a little problem with Mr. Linky and I lost a couple of people who signed in. It's okay now. :)

Love the extra info to go with this window Mary! Love the tree branch, too...
Great little window! And a fan shade on the inside. Those windows disappeared for a while in new construction in our area. Some of the more expensive houses had two story entrance foyers with half-round windows over the door.
Fun window to start us off Mary. I like the delicacy of the fan shape, not sure about the decorative keyhole though. I like the cleaner line of the half-moon on its own. My taste runs towards very simple clean lines though.
For my own inaugural entry I went in a bit of a different direction :).
I really like that window. I love fans, and ornamental decoration. Thanks for sharing!

I love the fan window! Looks great. Aren't they hard to find shades for though? Only downfall I guess. Great idea for a meme though!
I love these windows too!
the entire composition of this shot is lovely!
This is a fun idea. Thanks for hosting. The keystone on that fan window really adds to the impact.

Mary, just discovered this new meme via Robin! Hunted through my archives and found. Thanks for the fan window; I love great details.
Fan windows are beautiful, pity they're not common. Probably due to the curtains installation which could be a little difficult.
All the best to this new meme Mary! :)
That's a very long time I haven't seen such a window !
That's one cool window!
Much prettier than the tiny ones we have as bathroom windows :)
Lovely find!
found this meme off of Robin's page as well, thanks for the fun!
See the view from this window
(Sorry! Commented on the wrong part!) Lovely shaped window and really love the arty shapes of the twiggy branches enhancing it!
yey!!! its up! i was looking forward to this meme.
thats an interesting shot...i often fail to notice those kinds of windows, coz they're so tiny!
PS...if you have the time, please do check out the rest of the site where i posted my entry this week...it may be an interesting meme to get going :-) maybe we can work on it or something :-)
Hi Mary,
That's a beautiful window! Thanks for the info on the architecture. That branch gives it a different view! Have a great day!!

I see you stumbled on my family blog:) Thanks for your sweet comment! My window views post is on my photo blog http://vibrantvista.blogspot.com/. It's kinda far down the page because I got to excited to post it and did it a day early with a bunch of posts above it. Sorry it's hard to find. Love the meme!
Wonderful photo. I love how the curve of the barren winter tree frames the curve of the window.
I went for a Triple-Play for your new meme, Mary!
I have an old church from Reading, England at It's A Blog Eat Blog World,
and Little Isis is featured in two different windows - one at Purrchance To Dreamand another at House PanthersPLUS, I made my own Window Views graphic for my blogs!
*HUGS* to you for your new meme!

Nice... I had to find out about this from Robin? Where's the love? ;)
But I have lots and lots of windows I can crank up (get it?) so despite the fact that I need another meme about as much as a hole in the head, I just can't help myself.
Beautiful window! It really looks like a fan, giving fresh air for a new start :). Have a great day.
Sorry, I didn't participate because I just found your blog. If you do this every Thursday I will occasionally join in the future. This is a nice and easy way to go window shopping.
Great idea and if I remember I'll join in next Thursday and when I get a chance I'll check out some of the participants.
Thank you for starting this meme....I love windows and it will be inspiring and fun to participate each week.
We would like to join!! We will post a window picture next week!! Thanks for the cool new Meme!
